Dr. Loren C. Miller provides chiropractic neurology care for a
variety of conditions, including back and neck pain, headaches,
stroke rehab, vertigo and dizziness.
What is chiropractic neurology?
Chiropractic neurology is a speciality that’s rare among chiropractors.
Chiropractic neurologists trace pain back to its root
through the body’s nervous system. For example, they can tell if a
blocked nerve in your shoulder is causing that pain in your back.
Chiropractic neurologists like Dr. Miller have the special training
needed to make these types of more complete diagnoses.
Working with medical doctors.
Chiropractic neurologists serve as consultants to medical doctors
and other chiropractors, especially in the treatment of pain. Many
referrals that come from medical neurologists are to differentiate
central from peripheral lesions and to determine whether or
not certain treatments will be safe. One of the main differences
between chiropractic neurologists and medical neurologists is
that the therapies or applications of a chiropractic neurologist do
not include drugs or surgery.
A lot of the work is done in consultation, where the chiropractic
neurologist will examine a patient and then give direction to the
referring doctor regarding the mode of therapy or the appropriateness
of the therapy. In fact, in recent years a larger percentage
of medical doctors have been enrolling in chiropractic neurology
training programs.
Why Dr. Miller?
Dr. Miller is a graduate of the prestigious Carrick Institute of
Neurology, which offers advanced neurological specialities around
the world. As a result of his extensive training in neurology,
Dr. Miller is among only a few chiropractors in the Northwest to
complete this level of training. The advanced training Dr. Miller
underwent is similar to medical neurology training, but it differs
in application. Consequently, chiropractic neurologists like
Dr. Miller may recommend treatment or therapies that may not
be familiar to other doctors and will likely be new to you, too.
